Yesterday, I was pretty unsure about what to wear. I was going to meet up with two of my old friends. One of them I have known since second grade in elementary school, and the other one I spent every single day with at high school, and most of the weekends too. So, it did for sure not matter what I wore, I know that they would be happy to see me any way. However, it is fun to feel good about what you wear. But, yesterday was one of those days when what ever you wear does not feel right, and the thing that you want to wear are in the laundry. It does not help that you have a bad hair day, and feel guilty because you eat too much candy AND potato chips the night before. However, after spending some time I decided to dress down my forgiving black dress with this beige cardigan. However, how many buttons should I snap? Three?
Not any?
Maybe two?
No, three snapped buttons are probably the most flattering. But maybe I should hide my bad hair day with my white hat?
Let us see what it looks like with a close up?
Not to bad, but after all I can’t wear the hat inside. Although the gods should know that there is so many time I wants to, as they (the gods) have not blessed me with thick lovely hair. So, no hat and three snapped buttons, and I was ready. And yes, it was great to catch up with my friends since we don’t live in the same city and only see each other a couple of times each year. Since it soon is Monday, I am also going to meet some other dear friends. I can’t say that I have known them as long time as my friends I meet yesterday, but these friends are very important to me too. So why don’t you come a long so I could introduce to to the hostess Patti (who is blessed with lovely curly hair) and all other friends over at Visible Monday.
For those of you that understand Swedish, one of my friends that I meet this weekend also have a blog – Fridéns Liv – where she writes about everyday life as being a mother of four kids. She is a good writer (after all she is a teacher), so for those that are interested in Swedish everyday life of a mother of four kids I really recommend her blog!

Great job of combining your classic black dress with this cardigan. And I think your hair looks lovely (I always wanted straighter hair, naturally, b/c mine is curly : > ). thanks for linking up!
Thank you Patti! The grass is always greener on the other side, right?
I love black and brown together. You look great and your hair is precious! I wish I had a close friend in town who also blogs…I bet that is fun for you!!
Hi Pam! It is fun to exchange the experience with my friends that also are bloggers, although we blog about different things!
I think you made the right choice buttoning three buttons – it looks perfect! The beige and black look really nice with the brown belt.
Thank you Val! It is kind of you !
I love the details on your cardigan. The hat is great, too! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
Thank you Marci, the details of the cardigan was the reason that I bought it!
Such a lovely look my dear! I agree with your styling choices… Well done!
Thank you so much Tamera!
You and I must have been standing in the same line when they were handing out hair. You are right…the gods should let us wear our hats inside!
You look lovely and it’s fun to have friends who have known us for so long and like us anyway! : )
Thank you Diane! if there is another life, I am going to make sure to stand in a different line.Yes, friends are the best!
Great look! I love these neutral colors together. Haha, I always have mini dilemmas when deciding how many buttons to button.I think your choice of 3 buttons looks really good! 🙂
Thank you Elly, glad that you like my choice!
I like the two button look — it shows off the belt more, I think. I also like the hat — you look cute with it on, and I also agree that we should be able to wear them inside whenever we want!
Thank you! Maybe we should make a hat revolution together!?
I really like your outfit, Anna.
I don’t like those days when nothing helps us feel better and everything feels awkward. I think you pulled off a good look, though. I agree with three buttons 🙂
I also don’t have lovely thick hair…so when my misbehaves…it really misbehaves.
You do look really lovely and not at all like you were struggling, but I completely understand how those kinds of days are!
Thank you Lisa! Your hair always looks very nice on the photos! Yes, those akward days should be forbidden! However, today is much better!
Perfect choice with the buttons, three is very flattering. You, my dear have lovely blonde hair, which I think is simply adorable. I love accessorizing with hats so I also agree with you on that rule. But, over here, I don’t believe we enforce that rule at all, so come on over.
Yes, Trina let us start a hat riot! Thanks for your sweet comments!
Oh, I always struggle with this as well! Cardigans are just strange to button up sometimes, most of the time I’ll either belt mine or just give up and leave them loose. 😛 I’ll have to agree, I like the three buttons, it looks very flattering and it lets the belt shoes through. (I love black and brown together, it looks so stylish and takes a little of the formal-ness out of a black dress.) I’ll have to disagree on one thing though, I think your hair looks very lovely, I really like how you style it with your short haircut!
Thank you Katie! I actually don’t have any choice with the haircut, it is the only one that works for me. But I am glad that there at least is one haircut that works for my Scandinavian hair. 🙂
Så kul att träffas!!! Det måste vi göra snart igen. Det såg inte ut som du hade en “bad hair day” . Så snygg som vanligt!!!
Tack – det är gulligt av dig Emma!
Lovely look, dear!

Thank you Tatiana!
That skirt is lovely and so flattering on you and I do love your beanie.
We have all been there eating too much the night before and hating ourselves afterwards. When that happens I just try to do a better job the following day.

Thank you Suzanne! Yes, I have tried to behave afterwards too!
What a great outfit!! Love your cute cardigan. this outfit just looks cozy.
Thank you!
Two buttons is perfect I think. What a lovely look.
Thanks Jane! I actually decided that I prefer three, but it depends on my mood, so tomorrow I might be back to two! 🙂
What a great look! Love the chunky knit sweater and I like it best opened up – it really shows off that fabulous belt!

Thank you Heather, I think you have a point about showing off the belt!
Three … you got it right. Or two. I can’t decide. But I do love these neutrals and textures together. You look pretty, and your hair works just great! I have thin hair hair, too (the only thing on me that isn’t fat.) But your little bob looks just like I’ve seen it so often in magazines lately … wear it happily!
Hahaha.. your comments about your hair made me laugh. I might borrow it! Although I have to say that my hair has a tendency to get fat in another way, and it is not in a good way!
Hello Anna,
you downgraded your black dress marvellously. I love the combination with that leather belt and the cardigan and of course your pretty bag as well.
Sometimes I think I should use a scarf to cover my hair, bound like a turban, you know. Because a scarf can be worn inside the house as well.
By the way I’m working on my post and it will be finished soon. I will send it to you by email, when it is ready.
Have a great time my dear friend!
I love the idea about a scarf, I sometimes do it in the summer to protect my self from be stroked by the sun! However Sabine, you seem to have very nice hair so you should not hide it! I look forward to your post. I have to find some time, would a little bite later in March be fine with you? Have a great time my friend!
I think you can’t go wrong with this cardigan – it looks great no matter how many buttons you’ve snapped. I love how the pattern on the cardigan is repeated in the belt, very coordinated! The colours are just fantastic on you, and this dress is always a hit! There’s also a sparkly ring, from your last trip to the US? It looks very pretty!
I’ll be checking out Fridén Liv very soon, even though I don’t have four kids!
Thank you Tine! I am sorry if I disappoint you Tine, but there was no thought about the patterns in the cardigan and in the belt it was combined based on color! But you are right about the ring it is from my last trip to the US, Ann Taylor Loft.
I am very impressed by my friend that writes Fridèns Liv, to be able to be a great mum (I don’t know anyone that has so well-behaved and lovely kids, but of course I have not meet your daughter) and do a lot of other things too, such as blogging. Have a great weekend!
